Phone Backup in 2026: Every Question Answered

Good backup decisions start with a few concrete answers: what is copied, where it is stored, and how you know it can be restored. These questions cover the Qubii products on the Maktar US store.

Does Qubii need an app?

Yes. Duo, Power and EX use the Qubii Pro app. Complete setup and grant the permissions needed for the content you want to save.

Does it need Wi-Fi?

Local backup does not require Wi-Fi. You need internet to download the app or retrieve originals available only in cloud storage.

Which model includes storage?

EX has built-in storage. Duo and Power use removable microSD cards. Their device-only options do not include a card; labeled card bundles do.

Which model includes a wall charger?

Power combines a wall charger with backup hardware and supports up to 45W output. Duo and EX are used with a separate compatible charger. Charging speed depends on the connected equipment.

Will any charging cable work?

No. The cable must support data transfer and match the phone and Qubii connectors. A phone can charge even when the data connection is not working.

Does it copy the entire phone?

Qubii saves supported photos, videos and contacts. It is not a complete system backup of every app, message and setting.

How do I know my photos are backed up?

Check the completed backup status in the app and open several saved files. Periodically confirm that recent photos are included.

Is a removable card automatically encrypted?

Do not assume so. Local storage and encryption are separate properties. An app screen lock does not establish that files on a removed card are encrypted. Keep the card secure and check documented security features.

What is the warranty?

Standard hardware coverage is a 2-year limited warranty. Extended coverage depends on model eligibility and successful registration. The official policy describes the conditions and excludes data recovery.

Should I keep another copy?

Yes. Irreplaceable files should have another verified copy in a separate location. One device can be lost, damaged or fail.

Choose by storage and charging setup

• Qubii Duo: a backup cube for a compatible charger and phone data cable. It uses a removable microSD card.
• Qubii Power: a wall charger with up to 45W output and removable-microSD backup. Actual charging speed depends on the phone and cable.
• Qubii EX: a backup cube with built-in storage, used with a compatible charger and phone data cable.

All three require Qubii Pro app setup. For Duo and Power, a microSD card is included only in a package explicitly labeled as a card bundle. Product pages show current prices, capacity choices and availability.
